Step by Step Directions:
Step 1: Tree Beginnings đł
- Begin by drawing ovals on colorful paper for your trees. Think bright oranges, yellows, and redsâthe warm colors of fall!
- Carefully cut out your tree shapes, giving each one a unique personality.
Step 2: Branching Out đż
- With a pencil, sketch the trunk and branches for your trees. Get creative! Lines can show emotions, and your tree's branches can express joy, excitement, or even a touch of mystery.
- Once you're satisfied with your sketches, boldly go over them with a sharpie marker. This will make your lines stand out and shine.
Step 3: Create Your Grove đ˛
- Repeat these steps until you have a colorful grove of 8-12 trees, each with its own expressive lines.
Step 4: Choose Your Background đ
- Select a piece of paper for the background. Don't limit yourself to just brown for the ground and blue for the sky! Try out vibrant shades like pink, purple, or even a dreamy turquoise.
- Plan where your trees will go on the paper. Experiment with layouts, encourage overlapping to convey depth, and add extra elements like a moon, a tent, or a pile of leaves for that extra touch of fall magic.
Step 5: Stick It Together đď¸
- Now, it's time for the glue! Carefully apply glue to the back of each tree.
- Pro tip: I always have my students put glue on the smaller piece of paper. It ensures a neat, clean finish.
- Start with the trees that will be in the back to create that sense of depth.
Step 6: The Final Trim âď¸
- After all components are glued down, flip your masterpiece over and trim off any excess paper. VoilĂ ! You now have a stunning, clean collage.
