Escaping the Winter at the Kalahari

Ok all! This one is a FAVORITE during the bitterly cold Wisconsin winters!

Suggestion: Go for a King Room in the Sands Building. With a beautiful living room, full kitchen, and separate bedroom/bathroom area, we just love this room! Parent bonus...there are doors between the living room and bedroom area, so if your little needs to go to sleep earlier than you, you can simply put them to bed and enjoy some tv time!

With a plethora of room options to suit every preference, (our all-time favorite suite boasting a king bed and a spacious living room/kitchen combo), Kalahari ensures that comfort and convenience seamlessly intertwine. The moment we step into our room, we take off the winter coats and get ready to enjoy a resort full of things to do without even stepping foot on a snowy sidewalk...this place is the BEST retreat from the bitter winter windchills of Wisconsin.

The entertainment offerings at Kalahari are nothing short of exceptional – a playground of excitement that caters to all ages. The sprawling waterpark, complete with its massive wave pool, has become a cherished destination for our family's aquatic adventures. Whether you're seeking the thrill of learning to surf or simply relaxing by the poolside, there's something for everyone to relish. It feels like we've grown up with visits to the Kalahari, from watching it open when we were just in high school, marveling at the waterpark that outdid anything we'd ever seen. As we began our careers in education, both my husband and I have attended conferences at the Kalahari. With our young kids, Its the place we go to escape the winter (and they especially loved the toddler area of the waterpark!)

Stop by the Starbucks for a treat (the cheesecake though!) and stop by the sweets counter!

The indoor theme park is a true marvel, housing an array of fun rides, a bowling alley that promises friendly competition, and an arcade that sparks nostalgia and joy in equal measure (the bulldozer games are our favorite, but skeeball is a close second for sure!). We frequently make the trip to the Dells on Friday nights in the winter to take in a few games and a snack.

For those seeking a cinematic escape, the attached movie theater becomes a haven for catching the latest blockbusters in ultimate comfort. We've enjoyed plenty of movies here over the years and absolutely love that this theater is within walking distance of our room...no winter coat required! The theaters are big and roomy and we've never felt overly crowded even when catching a new release.

The resort's diverse array of restaurants caters to a range of culinary preferences, ensuring that even the most discerning palates are satisfied without the need to brave the Wisconsin cold.
